A beautiful 19th century French cartonnage edition of The Little Prisoner of the Snows by the Comtesse Drohojowska, née Symon de Latreiche. Published in 1880 by J. Lefort in Lille and Paris, this is the second edition.
An especially pretty example with a soft pink binding richly decorated in gold and coral, with an inset color illustration to the front cover. The book contains engraved illustrations throughout, including a wonderful frontispiece depicting a dramatic snowy mountain scene.
Good antique condition overall with the decorative covers retaining beautiful color and gilt. There is age related wear, most notably some separation and loss at the lower spine area, along with wear to the corners and edges, as pictured.
