A beautiful 19th century French cartonnage travel book by Paul Baudry, published in Rouen in 1881. The ornate cream, coral and gilt cover features a wonderful inset Alpine scene with mountains, a waterfall and a tiny figure overlooking the landscape.
This copy also has a wonderful original 1881 French school prize label inside, adding a bit of provenance to the book.
Good antique condition overall with a pretty good spine, showing some wear and separation toward the bottom.
