A beautiful French cartonnage with a flat illustrated binding, rather than the heavily embossed gilt covers seen on many examples. The colorful pastoral scene is surrounded by an elaborate border of flowers with blue and gilt detailing. Published in Tours in 1873. Spine is in good condition with light age appropriate wear.
