Early 19th century French Creil creamware transferware shallow bowl from the Vue Anglaise series, depicting the country residence of the Earl of Carrick in Middlesex, England. During the nineteenth century, grand English estates were admired throughout Europe for their elegant architecture and landscaped gardens, and this peaceful scene captures leisurely figures strolling the grounds while boats glide across the water before the stately home. The finely detailed black transfer is framed by a delicate grapevine border. Measures 9.25” in diameter and 1.25” tall. Good antique condition with a few small rim chips, light age related crazing, and expected wear. No cracks noted.
