A beautiful 1854 French edition of Daniel Defoe’s The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, published in Tours by Mame et Cie. Illustrated with 24 wood engravings after Karl Girardet.
An especially pretty French cartonnage binding in green, white and gold with elaborate gilt detailing, colorful floral decoration and an illustrated scene from the story on the cover.
Very good antique condition with a good, solid spine. Some foxing throughout consistent with age and light age related wear to the binding and covers.
