A remarkably scarce early 19th century French Creil black transferware tureen retaining its original undertray and decorated with an expansive panoramic hunt scene wrapping the entire body. Elegant acanthus molded handles, delicate grapevine borders, and a beautifully detailed hunting vignette to the stand make this an exceptional display piece. Though the original lid is no longer present and one handle has an old loss, examples of this impressive form are seldom encountered, making it a wonderful opportunity for collectors of early French transferware.
